Allan Cameron, Executive Director/Producer
Allan is the Founding Executive Director and Producer for Veterans Voices of Canada. He began his career in broadcasting with Global Television Atlantic from 1994 to 1999. Upon leaving Nova Scotia he travelled across Canada working as a freelance cameraman/producer for national broadcasters and video production companies. Being an admitted lifelong history buff, in late 2005 he pursued his dream to meet, interview and document Canadian military Veterans for history and education. He now lives in and is based out of Sylvan Lake, Alberta.
Roy Foster, Vice President
Roy is one of the longer serving directors and is Vice President of Veterans Voices of Canada. He joined the R.C.A.F. as an Airframe Mechanic and became a Flight Engineer on Lancaster aircraft with 420 Snowy Owl Squadron/6th Bomber Command. After the war, he served with Aeronautical Investigation Branch and Salvage, then later went back flying with 129 Acceptance and Ferry Flight out of #6 Repair Depot, Trenton Ontario. He then transferred to 129 Acceptance and Ferry Flight Detachment at Lincoln Park in Calgary, attached to Canadian Pacific Airlines (Repair Division). Retired from the RCAF at Cold Lake Alberta while with Air Defence Command. He now lives in Wetaskwin, Alberta.
Doris Ptolemy, Board Member
Doris is a Central Alberta business owner and became interested inVeterans Voices of Canada several years ago. She decided to support the organization and became a board member. Doris is very active in her
community of Sylvan Lake.
Reg Hamilton, Board Member
Reg is a retired Oilfield Manager and is also President of the Canadian Legion Dayton Valley Branch 269.He is very supportive of all things Veteran related, and a very dedicated community volunteer. He has been a director and volunteer with Veterans Voices of Canada for the past three years.
Karin Hamilton, Board Member
Karin is a retired Hospital worker. She is a volunteer at the Drayton Valley Hospital, and a very important part of the Royal Canadian Legion Dayton Valley Branch 269. Karin has been a director/Volunteer for Veterans Voices of Canada for the past three years.
Debra Purkiss, Treasurer/Secretary
Debra has been volunteering for Veterans Voices of Canada since early 2012 and is originally from England. She became a Canadian citizen in 2011. She was looking for volunteer work to ‘give back’, and Allan’s search for volunteers caught her attention. As the wife of a Gulf War veteran,this was an ideal match. Debra is also a transcriptionist and event committee member for the organization.
