Steve Czobar was born in Budapest Hungary in 1936. Steve’s dad was a butcher and his mom a Tailor. He witnessed Jewish friends of his taken out of the classroom and forced into the ghetto, as well as other families being deported to concentration or extermination camps by the Germans. He helped the Jewish families by bringing food up to the fence and gates of the ghetto. This was forbidden by the Germans, but he still continued to do this.
Steve Czobar is another of those silent heroes of the Second World War.
