Earl Gouchie, NNSH
Earl Gouchie was born in Nappan, Nova Scotia in 1917.
He passed away on March 19, 2010.
There were just sheets of flags all around you. In fact I pretty near got run over by one of our tanks as I never heard him coming. I felt the ground vibrating, and I looked up and there was this big track over me. I just rolled out of the way in time when it slammed down the ground.
We didn’t know what the SS were like until we found out later. They were special troops, fanatics. They didn’t care…they were just kids and it was all they knew.
How can you help VVOC?
Too many of our veterans have not had a chance to tell their story. Veterans Voices of Canada will help to ensure that all Canadian military veterans have the opportunity to talk about their personal experiences and their stories on camera.
