Norm Salive,Calgary Highlanders
Norm was born on August 14, 1924 in Windsor, Ontario.
They brought us some clean clothes, and something to eat, and we got more ammunition. Everything was going really good, when the Black Watch went up. It wasn’t very long when a Dispatch Rider came sailing in to the rest area and said sorry boys, you gotta go back up, the Black Watch just got wiped out. We got together and away we went, we got it. They (The Germans) had that place zeroed in.
How can you help VVOC?
Too many of our veterans have not had a chance to tell their story. Veterans Voices of Canada will help to ensure that all Canadian military veterans have the opportunity to talk about their personal experiences and their stories on camera.
